Two Henderson police officers shot a suspect who drove a stolen front loader construction vehicle at an officer and rammed two patrol cars Sunday morning, the department said in a news release.
The incident began at approximately 9:10 a.m. when officers responded to a stolen vehicle report in the 600 block of North Water Street. When officers arrived, they found a suspect driving a front loader construction vehicle.
When officers attempted to make contact with the adult male driver, he drove the front loader toward an officer in an apparent attempt to run the officer over, police said.
The suspect then rammed two patrol vehicles, causing them to become lodged under the front loader.
The officers discharged their firearms, striking him twice.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The officers were also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
