A video released on March 12 shows three Iranian military aircraft at Kerman airfield in southeastern Iran, which are hit by point-blank missiles and completely burn after explosions.
Among the hit planes were a C-130 Hercules transport, a P-3 Orion maritime patrol aircraft and a russian Il-76.
The US Central Command reported that these strikes were carried out on the locations of equipment in Tehran, and emphasized that US troops are not only defending themselves against threats, but also systematically destroying Iran’s air force.
The Iranian air force is mostly equipped with outdated American-made aircraft, adopted before the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The russian Il-76, which appeared among the targets, indicates Iran’s attempts to expand its logistics and improve the transportation capabilities of its military aviation.
