🚨🚨Police release video of November officer-involved shooting that injured 2 in Colorado Springs

The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) shared video of an officer-involved shooting that injured two people on November 13.

According to officers, the 911 caller said that a man at the apartments had assaulted someone, leading to a fight. They said the man left, threatening to come back with a gun, then returned and began banging on the door.

An officer arrived on scene, but after not finding an active disturbance, they reportedly attempted to contact the 911 caller. As the officer began walking toward the caller’s room, CSPD said the caller came out from behind a hallway security door.

Several seconds later, police said two men and a woman walked into the hall between the 911 caller and the officer. According to police, one man was carrying a rifle, and the other male had an unknown weapon.

Police said the man then raised the rifle at the officer, and in response, the officer fired four shots. The shots hit both a man and a woman standing close to the man who raised his rifle.

According to police, the officer went downstairs to find cover, but the man who raised his rifle appeared, saying that the two people who had been shot needed help.

CSPD said the man who had raised his rifle was cooperative with officers and was taken into custody without further issues.

Additional officers then arrived to provide medical aid to the two people who had been shot. Police said they are both in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

CSPD said the rifle found at the scene was then identified as a Crosman AK1 full-auto air cartridge BB gun.

Two other edged weapons found on the scene were reportedly identified as the object that the male who was shot was carrying.

According to police, the man with the rifle was questioned and released as the investigation continues. At this time, police say he has not been charged with a crime and has not been publicly identified.
