In April, an F-16 Fighting Falcon \u2014 which cost about $63 million each \u2014 went down in a remote area near the Holloman Air Force Base in the southern part of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The pilot suffered minor injuries after he was also ejected from the plane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Located on the southern edge of Albuquerque,\u00a0 Kirtland Air Force Base\u00a0 is home to the 377th Air Base Wing, which conducts nuclear operations and trains and equips expeditionary forces.
