It has been reported that at least 87 people lost their lives on the Iranian naval vessel named IRIS Dena, which is said to have sunk after making a distress call off the coast of Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

USA STRIKES IRANIAN SHIP<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath stated that the ship named “IRIS Dena” sank after sending a distress signal off the coast of Sri Lanka. According to a social media post by the Indian Navy, the ship had stopped at India’s Visakhapatnam port on February 17 to participate in maritime events held in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sri Lanka Navy Spokesperson Buddhika Sampath reported that at least 32 of the approximately 180 crew members were rescued during the search operations conducted off the coast of Galle in southwestern Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hospital officials in Galle announced that at least 87 bodies have been recovered so far. While the search operations are ongoing, Sampath stated, “When we arrived at the scene, we saw no trace of the ship. We only found oil stains and lifeboats.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
