{"id":1805,"date":"2026-03-17T19:28:57","date_gmt":"2026-03-17T19:28:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.landingliker.info\/?p=1805"},"modified":"2026-03-17T19:28:57","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T19:28:57","slug":"israeli-military-says-it-struck-basij-checkpoints-in-tehran","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.landingliker.info\/?p=1805","title":{"rendered":"Israeli Military Says It Struck Basij Checkpoints in Tehran"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" src=\"https:\/\/www.landingliker.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/VJDU3KS455PKK67YERV5QJDK2U.avif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1806\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Israeli military struck checkpoints in Tehran operated by the Basij, it said on Thursday, as part of an effort to weaken the rule of Iran\u2019s clerical leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Basij militia is a part-time paramilitary force under the control of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) that is often used to quell protests inside Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Israeli military said in a written statement that it had recently identified new Basij roadblocks in Tehran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAfter identifying the deployment, over the past day, the Israeli Air Force, acting on IDF (Israel Defense Forces) intelligence, has targeted the Basij roadblocks and operatives,\u201d the military said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThese forces led the regime\u2019s primary efforts to suppress internal protests, particularly in recent months, employing severe violence, mass arrests, and the use of force against civilian demonstrators,\u201d the military said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"400\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 352 \/ 400;\" width=\"352\" controls src=\"https:\/\/www.landingliker.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_9124.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Israel and the United States launched a bombing campaign in Iran on February 28, with an opening strike that killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both allies have called on Iranians to rise up and topple their clerical rulers.
