The first responding deputy was met by the suspect&#8217;s father, who placed himself between his son and the deputy to prevent a potential shooting. The suspect, 22-year-old Trevor Nieves-Gonzalez, ultimately threw down the knife, spit on a second responding deputy and was taken into custody following Taser deployment. The father was treated for injuries sustained prior to deputies&#8217; arrival, including a wound to the back of his head from the knife.
