{"id":2766,"date":"2026-08-21T12:52:58","date_gmt":"2026-08-21T12:52:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.landingliker.info\/?p=2766"},"modified":"2026-08-21T12:52:59","modified_gmt":"2026-08-21T12:52:59","slug":"4-killed-18-injured-in-mass-shooting-at-popular-birmingham-alabama-neighborhood","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.landingliker.info\/?p=2766","title":{"rendered":"4 killed 18 injured in mass shooting at popular Birmingham Alabama neighborhood"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"352\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 352 \/ 352;\" width=\"352\" controls src=\"https:\/\/www.landingliker.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/IMG_2055.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Four people were killed and more than a dozen were injured in a shooting in Birmingham, Alabama, on Saturday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police said officers responded to reports of a major shooting. \u201cOfficers are on the scene of multiple people shot with possibly multiple casualties,\u201d the Birmingham Police Department wrote in a post to X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The shooting occurred in the Five Points South area of the city, the post added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ABC News Birmingham affiliate WBMA reported that at least four people were killed and dozens injured in the shooting. At least four of the injured have life-threatening injuries, WBMA said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As of 6 a.m. CST on Sunday, officials say 18 others were also hurt during the shooting. Their injuries range from non-life-threatening to life-threatening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WBMA said the shooting occurred around 11 p.m. Saturday night in the busy Five Points South area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three of the four victims died on the scene, WBMA said. The fourth victim died at the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investigators said they made no arrests and believe there were multiple shooters who fired upon a large group of people who were outside in a public area in the 2000 Block of Magnolia Avenue South.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police are investigating whether a gun fitted with a so-called \u201cswitch\u201d \u2014 which allows a semi-automatic weapon to fire at a faster rate \u2014 was used in the shooting, WBMA said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Birmingham Police Department has requested FBI and ATF assistance with the investigation, WBMA reported.
