Comfort died on 8 May 2010 in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, from wounds suffered by an improvised explosive device. He was supporting Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>After graduating from Jacksonville State University, Alabama, in 2006, Comfort was commissioned as a Field Artillery Officer.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.landingliker.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Comfort-in-2013-and-2024-1024x683.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-35\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.landingliker.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Comfort-in-2013-and-2024-1024x683.webp 1024w, https:\/\/www.landingliker.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Comfort-in-2013-and-2024-300x200.webp 300w, https:\/\/www.landingliker.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Comfort-in-2013-and-2024-768x512.webp 768w, https:\/\/www.landingliker.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Comfort-in-2013-and-2024.webp 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>was assigned as a Company Fire Support Officer and platoon leader with 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment and 1st Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, deploying in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>After completing the Ranger Indoctrination Program, he was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.landingliker.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/KYLEGOODBYE_188.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-36\" style=\"width:735px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.landingliker.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/KYLEGOODBYE_188.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.landingliker.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/KYLEGOODBYE_188-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>CPT Comfort was a Fire Support Officer for 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment when he was killed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A native of Anniston, Alabama, Captain Kyle A.
